Description
In honour of the mighty crayfish that are functionally extinct in the Hauraki Gulf, here are some lobster earrings.
Crayfish in Aotearoa are in crisis, completely overfished commercially and recreationally.
I wish that we could appreciate them as the cool animal they are without eating them. A lot of the earrings I make are to break paradigms like “lobster is food” or “insects are ugly”.
These are made of volcanic rock beads and gold-plated fittings.
