Before we saw a new rise in worldwide fascism, I had hardly used or heard the word “allegedly”.

Alongside this new brand of fascism, we slipped into Me Too, and into various allegations against people, mostly, and I’m sorry, men, in which we were forced to legally use the word “allegedly”, instead of calling a spade a spade. Not all men, of course, acknowledged.

Sometimes we just know something has happened. The stats tell us that chances are it’s true. But legally, it’s remains at vague wording, and especially in Aotearoa, judges are lenient with bad people.
